Episode 238: Psycho Cop Returns (1993)

Rundown

We had such a good time discussing INVISIBLE MANIAC a few years back, why not dive into another questionable Adam Rifkin movie? We've made worse decisions than watching 1993's PSYCHO COP RETURNS, so To our credit, we didn't even know he left, but he's back to make puns and stare at buns. Oh, and kill as many people as possible for no apparent reason. He's also apparently a Satanist? Who cares, this plot is a mess… Come with us as we clean up the streets on Horror Movie Night!

Can a weird psychiatrist uncle(?) save his ex-Playboy Bunny niece from her demonic destiny, or will she devour her ex-child preacher husband with her hungry monster boobies? Find out this week as we discuss 1981's mob-funded feverdream MAUSOLEUM! It's truly as strange as it sounds, and if you haven't seen it, it is something that must be experienced at least once. Get ready for a lot of glowing green eyes and inexplicable plot points this week on Horror Movie Night!

If you were wondering whether we're tired of meta horror yet, here's your answer: nope! Matt chose a real banger this week, the alien-frog-with-laser-eyes romp THERE'S NOTHING OUT THERE (1992). There are punks, bros, hot ladies, skinny-dipping, a ridiculous monster with even more ridiculous weaknesses, and even a boom mic getaway. This one is a cult classic for a reason, and it's save to say it checks all of the HMN boxes!

Continuing last week's spectacle of cat abuse, we're setting sail for parts unknown with a killer mutant tabby and there's nothing to eat except champagne and cereal... and rat poison. You might have guessed it, we're talking 1988's Uninvited and man, what a ride. We are joined again by our resident Film Freak, horror handyman Kyle Kuchta, as we wax poetic about animal shelters, Clu Gulager's fake teeth, how much cats hate wine, and why you should never pick up strays. How much would YOU debase yourself for a suitcase full of dirty money? This is the question that burns within our psyches daily, but can finally elaborate upon with each other, this week on Horror Movie Night!
