More Robert Englund Films
Matt and Scott were joined by Stephen of Analog Jones at Monster-Mania in NJ this spring and decided to make a "threevening" of it by discussing Hellraiser 3: Hell on Earth and A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors! This is the second live episode recorded after Mania, and we can happily report that no one has their tendons ripped out to be used as marionette strings or gets called bitch by a TV. Join us for another live episode of Horror Movie Night!
As you may have gathered from our Jason Takes Manhattan episode, we did a live taping recently after Monster Mania 36; in the likelihood that you, dear listeners, weren't able to make it to the live show, we were thoughtful/sadistic enough to tape the show, and this week's episode is the second half of our set, in which we lovingly eviscerate 1991's ironically-named "final" installment in the NOES franchise, Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare! The hits come faster and harder than Breckin Meyer doing bong rips, so get yourself a drink and fire up your Powerglove for another episode of Horror Movie Night!
Remember how much you love Freddy? Well how about a romantic tragedy with way less humor, gore and charm, but still starring the guy behind all that makeup? You're in luck this Valentine's Day, because your HMN boyfriends are making it special with some candles, some roses, and their seductive voices screeching about Robert Englund's lukewarm take on a classic Universal monster, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (1989). There are some solid scenes to be had here, but we agreed that this is one of those films where none of us would have taken the time to watch if not for the show, so let us do all the heavy lifting for you. Cuz lover, tonight is all. About. You.
